HATS:
This month I’m very excited to share with you a special, fun and at times outrageous and OTT (over the top) collection.
Do you recall as a little girl wearing an Easter bonnet, with it’s dainty flowers and bows or seeing your grandma wear a “lady like” pillbox hat? I’m sure, you as I, are from a generation where the wearing of a hat is more of a practical nature (you know to ward off the elements, rain, sleet, sun, wind or cold, rather than a finishing touch to your chicest ensemble.
The hats I’m excited to share with you (from a dear friend’s collection) conjure up visions of grand events; such as attending the Kentucky Derby sipping on mint julep’s, or Katherine’s and Prince Williams wedding, participating in a stroll down 5th Avenue in the ‘Easter Parade’, or visions of Fashion’s own Anna Della Russo strutting through a Milan Piazza …these hats are a far cry from practical!
‘Ballard Design’ I find to be great for affordable ‘case’ furniture (dressers, sideboards, desk and upholstered headboards too).
‘Shades of Light’ and ‘Horchow’, great for light fixtures (sconces, floor lamps, chandeliers, lamp shades etc.).
Try ‘Wisteria’ for chairs and occasional tables and that ‘one of a kind ‘ look to the decorative items
they offer (pieces that look like they were scored from around the world).
‘Smith+Noble’ is a designers dream for drapery, blinds, cornices and shades.
And the ‘end all’ of all Interior Design sites ‘1st dibs’ for the ultimate finds in luxury goods; including
fashion, jewelry, even homes around the world! Well I said it was the ‘end all’ of luxury sites…

So it’s 16 degrees and there is no sign of warm weather around the corner…what’s a girl to do?
The idea of sun, sand and seductive waves sounds like music to your ears…
Well, log onto your little laptop and search the fares and availability for a sunny destination!
Say maybe St Barths!
